The essentials include the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, both fully God and fully man, born of a virgin. He was tempted in every way and yet, did not commit any sin during His life. Jesus ultimately paid the price for all the sins of the world on a Roman cross. He died, was buried, and rose from the grave after three days, victorious over sin and death. Shortly thereafter, following numerous appearances to His followers, He ascended to the Father. Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah and Savior of all mankind.
The forgiveness and acceptance (salvation) God offers to us as a gift is because of His grace and comes through our faith in Christ alone—what He accomplished on the cross, not by works or rituals of any kind (Ephesians 2:8-9). Those who by faith are born again into God’s kingdom have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside and are secure in their salvation forever (Romans 8:9,16; John 10:28-30). Those who reject God’s plan of salvation are condemned to eternal separation from God and punishment in Hell (John 3:18). Jesus is coming again and all those who have placed their trust in Him will be with Him in Heaven for all eternity.
