Our classic worship service is a gathering of believers who enjoy meeting for a worship service led by the Chapel Choir, orchestra, organist Dr. Valerie Manning, pianist Sharon Burton, and various ensembles and soloists, under the direction of our music pastor, Paul Purifoy.
We enjoy the ministries of the following musical groups:
- NewSong (think Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir)
- Metro Boys (think Southern gospel)
- Metropolitan Chorale (think English collegiate choral tradition)
- The Guys (think Gaither Vocal Band)
- Jubal (think strong Christian men who love to sing for Jesus)
- Handbell Choir
- Children’s Choirs
The centerpiece of our worship is the exposition of the Bible. Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, prayer, congregational scripture readings, giving, missionary moments, and occasionally drama, are also important aspects of our worship of the Living God.
People of all ages attend the classic worship service because they love singing hymns using a hymnal, the beautiful sounds of the organ and choir, and the early hour for worship.
Note: The Bible message is the same in both the classic and contemporary services.
